The Role -

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Product Specialist (Custom Core Products) to work out of its state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY.

The Product Specialist (Custom Core Products) will support the product group with any projects or daily workload to achieve the determined sales and profitability levels; collect, generate and analyze data; periodically review drawings; and provide support to Sales. This person will actively engage in learning about the products, markets, and competitors.  

The key responsibilities of the Product Specialist (Custom Core Products) include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for product marketing for specified products?
    • Product planning
    • Forecasting
    • Pricing structure & strategies
    • Promotion/advertising strategies
    • Coordination with MARCOM
    • Margin responsibility
    • Develop market plans for each product
    • Develop cost reduction efforts
    • Coordinate distributor strategic pricing efforts
  • Responsible for meeting objectives of product plan:
    • Review of daily orders and margins
    • Work towards booking & margin objectives
    • Miscellaneous activities depending on product group needs
  •  Assist in market development and market penetration for new and derivative products
  • Work with customers, Field Sales and Distribution in developing new or derivative products
  • SpaceX Program Manager

Salary: $62,354 - $80,000

Location -   

  • Sidney, NY
    • 30 Minute Drive from Binghamton, NY
    • 20 Minute Drive from Oneonta, NY

The Person -

The key skills and qualities of a Product Specialist (Custom Core Products) at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred (in Marketing or Business)
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), as well as the ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships with customers and peers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Extended periods of sitting and computer usage
  • Travel (air and car) assigned by Product Line Manager,  approximately 10%
