
The Role
Amphenol Military High Speed is seeking a Planning Supervisor to work out of it's facility in Sidney, NY. The Planning Supervisor is responsible for creating and maintaining the component production schedules for the Sidney, Mesa, and Nogales facilities that maximize plant capacity while meeting customer demand and obtaining maximum revenue for AMHS.
The key responsibilities of the Planning Supervisor include, but are not limited to:
- Provide leadership to the Central Component Planning Department which is responsible for creating the production schedule
- Capable of monitoring and improving KPIs related to work order aging, cycle time, on-time delivery and inventory
- Ability to analyze and get to true root cause of work order aging and on time delivery issues
- Perform detailed capacity assessments (long and short term) to balance shop utilization, customer service, and bottlenecks
- Coordinate outsourcing activities between the Central Planning Team and Purchasing
- Collaborate with planning group to ensure the ability to fulfill customer demand and forecast while highlighting production line capacity and plant constraints
- Ability to effectively communicate with the Nogales, Mexico and Mesa, Arizona production facilities to ensure material flow is not interrupted?
- Supervisor and manager responsibilities related to EHS:
- Ensure safe work practices are being followed by their employees
- Ensure their direct reports attend required EHS trainings
- Understand training requirements for tasks that are being performed
- Ensure incidents and near misses are appropriately reported and corrective actions are implemented
Location
Salary: $70,000 - $85,000
The Person
The key skills and qualities of a Planning Supervisor at Amphenol Military High Speed:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, or Supply Chain Management
- Minimum of 3 years' experience scheduling/planning in a manufacturing environment
- Direct involvement and knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
- Ability to organize, schedule, and conduct workloads of high-mix and high-volume (3,000 + SKUs daily)
- Proficient in MS Excel
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Self-starter who requires minimal direct supervision
- Previous experience leading a team of direct reports
- Ability to move around factory floor regularly
- Stand for long periods of time
- Lift and carry up to 20 pounds
