Overall management and support of assigned customers, ensuring that all aspects of quality, delivery and financial requirements are met or exceeded.

The Role -

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Key Account Specialist to work out of its state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY.

A hybrid work schedule option may be available following an initial training period.

The key responsibilities of the Key Account Specialist include, but are not limited to:

Customer Service

  • Ensure continuous communication with customers on order status and schedules
  • Owner of the internal and external customer results scorecards
  • Manages customer LTA's and quotes to generate orders
  • Manage customer Purchase Orders – accepting or revising to ensure customer service metrics are achieved
  • Monitors assigned customers to ensure goals, services, projects are being accomplished to meet schedule, and performance parameters
  • Manage SIMS Inventory programs; assuring both customer and Amphenol contractual commitments are met
  • The KAS works closely with the internal team to ensure deliverables of meeting customer needs, including:
    • Lead/facilitate customer status calls, present findings and serve as central point of contact for customers
    • Collaborate with other KAS to create best practices in delivery approaches and other internal Team Managers to assure delivery and contractual commitments are met.
    • Proactively identifying customer needs and challenges that Amphenol can assist with resolution
  • Develops overall customer / product plans to ensure successful achievement of objectives.
  • Conducts presentations to all business levels including Senior and Executive Level Management.
  • Travel to customer sites as required.
  • Manages and creates dashboard reports, customer contact list and other tools to better communicate to customer.
  • Evaluates program risks and develops risk mitigation plans.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction
  • Ensure customers adhere to contract payment terms

Customer Triage

  • Coordinate customer interface on technical problems affecting deliverables
  • Coordinate internal assistance to customers on engineering, purchasing or manufacturing issues
  • Assist with customer activities and issues as they arise in distribution network and/or subcontract level customers. 

Internal Communications

  • Ensure all Purchase Orders are current and entered into AS400, including all terms and conditions, customer clauses and product drawings.
  • Work closely with the appropriate internal departments to mitigate potential impact to customer deliverables
  • Provide progress reports to management on key business metrics, customer satisfaction status and/or areas requiring internal focus

Contract Negotiations

  • Assure Amphenol and customer conformance to contract terms
  • Act as a player in contract negotiations, addendums and sales
  • Communicate and administer annual price increases
  • Perform internal contract reviews/updates

Sales/Budget

  • Develop & execute sales strategies with outside sales and DSA's to gain new business with existing customers
  • Keep sales management appropriately informed of key customer happenings
  • Identify opportunities and expand Amphenol service levels in accordance with organizational growth
  • Manages and maintains market and internal forecast for company planning
  • Assist Finance in addressing customer A/R issues

Salary $58,460 - $64,000

Location -

  • Sidney, NY
  • 30 Minute Drive from Binghamton, NY
  • 20 Minute Drive from Oneonta, NY

The Person -

The key skills and qualities of a Key Account Specialist at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:

  • BS/BA degree in technical or business degree, or equivalent experience
  • Five years of work experience to include project management skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and experience dealing with customers in a service oriented environment
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to present confidently to customers
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Travel to customer sites as required.
