The Role -

Amphenol Aerospace is seeking a Marketing Trainee to work out its state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY. 

The Product Marketing Development Program is a rotational training program designed to develop high-potential employees for future roles within Product Marketing who understand not only the product, but also how it is priced, manufactured, supported, sold, and used by the customer. The Marketing Trainee will rotate through multiple functional areas of the business to develop a well-rounded understanding of Amphenol products, customers, manufacturing operations, pricing strategies, sales channels, and technical capabilities. Rotations may include Pricing, Customer Service, Production/Operations, Distribution Support, Technical Service, and Product Marketing. Throughout the program, trainees will gain hands-on experience and increasing responsibility while developing the commercial, technical, and operational knowledge necessary to successfully support and ultimately manage a product line. Successful completion of the Product Marketing Development Program is intended to prepare participants for future Product Marketing opportunities. Placement following the program will depend on demonstrated performance, organizational needs, and available positions.

The rotational program is designed to develop proficiency in the key areas required for a successful career in Product Marketing, including:

  • Product and application knowledge
  • Customer and market understanding
  • Pricing and profitability
  • Manufacturing processes and cost drivers
  • Customer service and order management
  • Distribution and OEM sales channels
  • Technical support and product configuration
  • Sales opportunity identification and support
  • Competitive and market analysis
  • Cross-functional communication and leadership

Rotations will be determined based on individual development needs, business priorities, and available opportunities.

The key responsibilities of the Marketing Trainee may include, but are not limited to:

  • Pricing & Profitability – Develop an understanding of product costs, margins, pricing strategy, and commercial decision-making.
  • Customer Service – Gain exposure to customer requirements, order management, lead times, and the overall customer experience.
  • Production / Operations – Learn manufacturing processes, cost drivers, capacity considerations, and opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Distribution Support – Develop an understanding of the distribution channel, key partners, inventory strategy, and sales opportunities.
  • Technical Service – Build product and application knowledge, including specifications, technical drawings, product selection, and customer requirements.
  • Product Marketing – Gain hands-on experience supporting product-line strategy, sales opportunities, profitability, new product initiatives, market analysis, and customer engagement.

Additional rotations or assignments may be included based on business needs and the trainee’s development objectives. The specific departments, sequence, and duration of rotations may vary by participant.

Salary: $62,354 - $70,000

The Person -

The key skills and qualities of a Marketing Trainee at Amphenol Aerospace:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, marketing, or another technical or related discipline preferred
  • Previous experience within manufacturing, electronics, aerospace, sales, customer service, pricing, engineering, or a related function is beneficial but not required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to learn technical products and applications
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple departments and disciplines
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, sales teams, and other stakeholders
  • Ability to read and develop a general understanding of technical drawings
  • Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and willingness to take on increasing responsibility
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within cross-functional teams
  • Strong interest in developing a career in Product Marketing
