Customer Quality Engineer – Competitive Salary + Benefits – Sidney, NY

The Role

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Customer Quality Engineer to work out of its brand new, state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY. The successful candidate will report into the Quality Manager and will support all Quality responsibilities.

The key responsibilities of this Customer Quality Engineer include, but are not limited to:

  • Interface with customers to address product quality concerns, actions, and improvements.
  • Advocate for Continuous Improvement and Zero Defect Mission of related manufacturing and business processes.  
  • Analyse and discuss quality concerns with assigned manufacturing departments.  
  • Develop a technical proficiency and communicate thoroughly with customers.
  • Utilize LEAN principles and Six Sigma Methodology in pursuit of the Amphenol Aerospace Zero Defect Mission.
  • Complete failure analysis on customer returns, organize containment activities, and issue corrective actions.
  • Initiate and verify the effectiveness of formal Corrective Actions.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of ISO-9001, AS-9100, Amphenol’s Quality Manual, and subordinate procedures.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Customer Quality Engineer at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:

  • Four year degree in Engineering discipline or similar degree
  • Knowledge of statistical methods, computer fluency, and interpersonal skills.
  • Applicable experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment, preferred 
  • Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Data3 software.
  • Some lifting and carrying of small loads may be required.
