Manufacturing Quality Engineer – Competitive Salary + Benefits – Sidney, NY

The Role

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to work out of its brand new, state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY. The successful candidate will report into the Quality Manager and will support all Quality responsibilities.

The key responsibilities of this Manufacturing Quality Engineer include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyze and discuss quality concerns with assigned manufacturing departments.   Identify, prioritize, and address all significant and repetitious quality problems.
  • Initiate and verify the effectiveness of formal Corrective Actions.
  • Maintain through knowledge of ISO-9001, AS-9100, Amphenol’s Quality Manual, and subordinate procedures.  Enforce quality policies.
  • Maintain working knowledge of products and associated processes.
  • Conduct Quality Audits when appropriate and when assigned.
  • Develop and maintain constructive professional relationships with employees and customers.
  • Take prudent actions to achieve Continuous Improvement in reducing Cost of Non-Quality and Customer Returns.
  • Investigate and disposition Customer Returns involving product from your area of responsibility.
  • Work extensively with Amphenol’s computer system, both the AS400 main frame and the local PC network.  Utilize Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Data3 software.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Manufacturing Quality Engineer at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:

  • Four year engineering degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Knowledge of statistical methods, computer fluency, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Preferred some applicable experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.  
  • Occasionally travel to customers to resolve, or explain prevention of, cited quality issues.
  • Ability to freely travel throughout a manufacturing floor environment. 
  • Some lifting and carrying of small loads may be required. Be able to work in a fast paced environment.
