Continuous Improvement Engineer – Competitive Salary + Benefits – Sidney, NY

The Role

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to work out of its brand new, state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY. The successful candidate will report to the Process Engineering Manager.

The key responsibilities of this Continuous Improvement Engineer include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop, design and lead implementation of product/process improvement projects.
  • Work directly with outside suppliers for equipment and custom design solutions.
  • Provide technical analysis to the Continuous Improvement and Process Engineering Teams.
  • Project identification focused on statistical analysis of empirical data.
  • Develop and draft manufacturing process sheets for newly implemented systems.
  • Initiate statistical process control plans to verify and maintain capability of completed continuous improvement activities.
  • Understand and develop to AAO’s internal Design, Quality and Process Engineering policies
  • Seek training courses including but not limited to the focuses of 5S, 6 Sigma and Lean Manufacturing for the CIE Team.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Continuous Improvement Engineer at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Industrial Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline plus 4-6 years’ experience or equivalent education and experience. 
  • Highly knowledgeable in the field of automation specifically but not limited to vision systems, precision adhesive dispensing, assembly and metal forming.
  • Microsoft Office
  • Minitab
  • Basic manufacturing experience
  • Strong statistical background
  • Lean/Six Sigma knowledge
  • Basic 3D CAD experience (Creo/Pro E/Autocad)  preferred
