The Role -

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Plating Process Technician to work out of its state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY.

The key responsibilities of the Plating Process Technician include, but are not limited to:

  • Support all products produced in the Plating Department, including destructive and non-destructive testing, periodic testing, running experiments, and developing and improving processes in the plating operation
  • Daily manufacturing floor support
  • Waste treatment support
  • Process troubleshooting to ensure quality product is plated
  • Collect, process, and administer periodic testing requirements for plating
  • Train operators to run good quality parts
  • Provide updates to PE on manufacturing work instructions
  • Support initiatives and trainings for corrective actions
  • Quality and technical support to internal and external customers
  • Assist with cross-sections and measuring equipment upkeep
  • Create and submit purchasing requisitions for tooling and supplies
  • Continuous improvement and cost reduction activities

    • 30 Minute Drive from Binghamton, NY
    • 20 Minute Drive from Oneonta, NY

The Person -

The key skills and qualities of a Plating Process Technician at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:

  • Familiar with wire, rack, and barrel plating of a variety of materials, technical drawings, and precision measurement equipment
  • Knowledge of plating specifications and requirements preferred
  • Knowledge of MS Office programs
  • Technical or associate degree preferred
  • 6 plus years of experience in plating components
  • Must have knowledge of plating best practices across multiple materials
  • Possible domestic or overseas travel
  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for prolonged periods of time; computer usage 1 to 8 hours a day
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to multi-task, lead teams, and work with minimum supervision
  • Participation in projects for all aspects of the connector business
