
The Role -
Amphenol Commercial Air is seeking a Product Engineer to work out its state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY.
The Product Engineer will work closely with the Process Engineering team to help improve and develop the various processes involved in manufacturing a connector. This person will bridge the gap between Operations and Engineering to ensure the Engineering team has all the support needed for new product development and maintaining the integrity of the standard product. This role will require the coordination between the Sidney, NY and Nogales, MX facilities to guarantee all specifications and customer requirements are followed.
The key responsibilities of the Product Engineer include, but are not limited to:
- Work with Process Engineering to provide manufacturing floor support for all Commercial Air products, including training when needed
- Assist the Process Engineering team in creating and maintaining manufacturing work instructions
- Continuous improvement and cost reduction projects
- Support customer requirements/requests
- Work closely with the Engineering team to support the development and manufacture of new products and processes
- Help provide operational/production support to the Engineering team
- Create reports monitoring the inventory levels of product for key customers
- Create reports tracking the on-time delivery for all Commercial Air products
- Lead the transfer of any product/process between facilities
Salary $61,500 - $85,000

The Person -
The key skills and qualities of a Product Engineer at Amphenol Commercial Air:
- Strong verbal and written communication, proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; a basic understanding of MRP is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering, or a related field
- Experience in manufacturing and the connector industry is a plus
- Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for prolonged periods of time
- Use of a computer from 1 to 8 hours a day
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Approximately 10% travel required, both domestic and international
- Ability to speak Spanish is a plus
