Test Lab Technician – Competitive Salary + Benefits – Sidney, NY

The Role

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Test Lab Technician to work out of its brand new, state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY. The successful candidate will report to the Test Lab Manager.

The key responsibilities of this Test Lab Technician include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs basic qualification and evaluation testing on connectors, components and materials.
  • Assignments are straight forward and results are documented via informal/formal reports.
  • Employee sets up and operates test equipment and uses physical gages available in the laboratory.
  • Works multiple test assignments concurrently. Works with Quality, Inspection, Manufacturing and Engineering. Performing various electrical, mechanical and environmental tests including but limited to:
  • Routine mechanical and electrical tests on electrical assemblies and connector products.
  • Records data analyses data and writes Technical Memos and formal Engineering Reports.
  • Performs electrical tests on high frequency connectors and devices.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Test Lab Technician at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:

  • High School diploma or equivalent education and work experience.
  • Ability to solve problems and notice minor changes in test samples.
  • Must have basic understanding of electrical principles explicitly Ohms Law. 
  • Must have a working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office tools, specifically Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Experience with programming automatic test equipment is a plus.
  • Job requires movement between test equipment. Some minor lifting is required.
