Molding Process Engineer – Competitive Salary + Benefits – Sidney, NY

The Role

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Molding Process Engineer to work out of its brand new, state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY. The successful candidate will report to the Molding Supervisor.

The key responsibilities of this Molding Process Engineer include, but are not limited to:

  • Project responsibility for two or more simultaneous planned Engineering programs.
  • Provides assistance to Engineering Design, Production, and Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Provides Engineering support to customer inquiries as required.
  • Develops and documents processes for new products by working with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing.
  • Reviews and updates existing processes for validity and continuous improvement.
  • Initiates equipment rearrangements or acquisitions that improve quality, reduce throughput time and increase productivity.
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement of the department and division.
  • Bilingual is preferred but not required.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Molding Process Engineer at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred:  Mechanical Engineering, Industrial & Systems Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering are the preferred focus curriculums. 
  • Past experience in project/program management. 
  • Experience working with suppliers and international technical teams.
  • Experience preferred but not required in silicone rubber molding, thermoset molding, and thermoplastic molding technology. Molding automation experience is a plus.
  • Typical office setting:  50% sitting, light lifting/bending, standing or frequent movement supporting manufacturing floor up to 50% of day.
  • Domestic & International travel 10-20% by car and air.
