APQP Quality Engineer – Competitive Salary + Benefits – Sidney, NY

The Role

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking an APQP Quality Engineer to work out of its brand new, state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY. The successful candidate will report to the Quality Engineering Manager.

The key responsibilities of this APQP Quality Engineer include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of APQP throughout AAO, Sidney.
  • Primary focus will be to work with department supervisors, process engineers, quality engineers, and shop floor employees to insure that all elements of APQP (Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEA, Control Plan, and Measurement System Analysis) are documented and maintained as “Living, Breathing Documents” for all processes.
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of products and associated processes.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of ISO-9001, AS-9100, Amphenol Quality Manual, and subordinate procedures and policies.
  • Insure all Procedures and Routines associated with APQP are maintained and current.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with employees and customers.
  • Regular meeting and communication with customers to discuss all APQP documentation.
  • Work extensively with Amphenol’s MRP system. Utilize Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Data 3, and other software as needed.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of an APQP Quality Engineer at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering discipline or similar degree.
  • Hands-on, working knowledge of all elements of APQP (Process Flow Diagram, PFMEA, Control Plan, Measurement System Analysis).
  • Ability to lead/facilitate APQP team meetings to insure teams keep on track and achieve their objective of continuous Risk Mitigation. Excellent interpersonal skills and adept at both oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to apply/utilize various problem solving tools as appropriate for the situation.
  • Must be a Team player.
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
